Recent History of Total E&P in Gabon: The end of a Story?
Total has been operating in Gabon for more than 90 years.
On February 27, 2017, Total announced the sale to Perenco of nearly a quarter of its production capacity in Gabon).
This represented 13,000 barrels out of 58,000 barrels in the group's share
In 2018, Total Gabon signed an agreement with Assala Upstream Gabon S.A. for the sale of its entire 32.9% stake in the Rabi-Kounga field, located onshore in southern Gabon.
July 31, 2020, Total Gabon signed an agreement with Perenco to sell its interests in seven mature unoperated offshore fields, as well as its interests and the role of operator in the oil terminal of Cape Lopez
The production of the transferred assets amounted to approximately 8,000 barrels of oil per day.
The operation remains subject to the approval of the Gabonese authorities.
“We remain fully committed to Gabon through our operated production clusters at Anguille - Mandji and Torpille – Baudroie - Mérou, where we continue to maximize value for all stakeholders.” said Total Exploration & Production (E&P) president Arnaud Breuillac.
