The - 3S - Supply Chain: Smart, Secure, Sustainable (and Ethical)
Summary:
This training program provides a comprehensive overview of modern Supply Chain Management by integrating three key dimensions: Smart (Digital Transformation), Secure (Risk Management), and Sustainable (Environmental and Ethical Responsibility).
Today, the Supply Chain is the cornerstone of the Energy Projects and Production Operations: Through its Leverages in Cost Reduction, Security of Sourcing & Supply of Industrial Equipment, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Policy implementation, the Supply Chain contributes to all objectives of an Energy Project in terms of Budget – Schedule – Performance – Quality and reduction of the Environmental Footprint.
The course begins with a foundational understanding of Supply Chains, explaining their role in both Manufacturing and Upstream Industries. This sets the stage for deeper exploration of digitalization, sustainability, and security in Logistics and Procurement.
The Smart Supply Chain section delves into the impact of emerging technologies, including real-time monitoring, data integration, and end-to-end tracking. It highlights the importance of digital tools for forecasting Demand, improving Inventory Management, and strengthening Collaboration between Suppliers and Logistics Partners. The concept of a “Smart Warehouse” is also introduced, showcasing automation and intelligent systems in storage and distribution.
The second module focuses on Supply Chain Security, addressing Supply Chain Risk Management Strategies. It covers Risk Identification, Assessment, and Mitigation techniques to enhance resilience and minimize vulnerabilities. Monitoring tools and best practices ensure a secure and efficient supply chain network.
The Sustainable & Ethical Supply Chain module explores responsible sourcing, compliance with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) standards, and ethical procurement practices. The course emphasizes the importance of sustainability policies, such as Local Content policy, in reducing Environmental and Social Impacts. It also describes in detail how to elaborate a Responsible Purchasing Strategy in an entity.
A dedicated module on reducing environmental footprint in Transportation and Logistics provides data on pollution from air, maritime, and road transport. It examines regulatory frameworks and industry initiatives like the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) sustainability goals. Solutions such as emission reduction strategies and green warehouse designs are also covered.
Overall, the training provides a balanced approach to Supply Chain Optimization by leveraging digital innovation, promoting sustainability, and ensuring operational security.
