Well Control
- Duration in hours: 2 x 4h
- Module level: Advanced
Overview: Wells are assumed to be designed as per International recognised Standards: Double envelop, BOP in place after upper casing is in place. This module is aimed for HSE training and does not deepen into technological details for specialized Drilling & Completion Engineers.
This module remains reasonably generic - Specific risks, well design and environment e.g. deep offshore, High Pressure – High Temperature (HPHT) wells, under-balanced drilling, Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), large H2S contents, use of air/natural gas/foam as drilling fluids etc. can call for supplementary safeguards, case by case.
Audience: Any Superintendents, Supervisors and Technicians involved in the Safety of Drilling Operations. This course is also a necessary refresher for drillers who are daily exposed to the specific Risks of the Rig environment.
Deliverables: Upon completion of this module, Trainees will understand the various scenarios leading to a loss of well control and the appropriate responses given the scenario. They will be familiar with the well control equipment and be ready, whatever their position, to participate to the Blow Out Contingency Plan prepared to tackle a crisis.
Certificate: The training will be completed by an online test on EvalBox. Upon completion of the training, including the test, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance issued by Adinergy.
